Relaxed Documentary Wedding Photography

Julie and Gary have been together for a long time over 20 years but they decided to take the plunge and tie the knot. Because of this they didn’t want endless stilted posed shots and wanted a relaxed candid style from their wedding photographer, you only get this from a true Documentary Wedding Photography . Julie is definitely the out going one of the couple and Gary far more reserved. It was oblivious from the outset that the day was going to one of two halves. The wedding day started warm and sunny and i arrived in plenty of time to shoot the bridal preparation. The venue for the whole day was The Bridge at Thrapston, nr Kettering, Northamptonshire a new venue for me. I had visited weeks prior for a nose around so I had no surprises on the day but after the family had dressed the rooms the venue was all but unrecognisable. I met up with Julie her daughters, sister and bridesmaids all who were well under construction. Much prosecco and laughs were being had with the young bridesmaids and pageboys acting the fool. Gary had by now arrived so I took a chance to get a few candid’s of him and his groomsmen. The ceremony was all set to go and joker Julie had a surprise for her brother who was giving her away a childhood memory and they both giggled and danced there way down the isle to Ken Dodd’s Diddy Men, anyone under the age of 35 probably hasn’t got a clue what that’s all about. Ceremony over, my biggest shock was the bride and grooms recessional song Happy by the Omni present Pharrell Williams, actually it wasn’t the song it was that the quiet retiring groom Danced his way down the isle. Fare play good moves for a big fella.

The rest of the day went very well, very short speeches much fun and games and alcohol so all good. There is one funny story but I’ll save that for another time.

Congratulations both and good luck for the future.
